With ecommerce at an all time high, there's no doubt that there is plenty of money to be made as a site developer. Not only that, but there are lots of different ways to make money developing web sites.
The first way is to offer your services as a professional site developer. Lots of people pay others to build and develop their sites for them. This is a lucrative business that can be done for a traditional employer or even from home on a freelance basis. Thanks to the Internet, you can work with clients all over the globe without ever leaving home! The most important thing to have when offering your site development services is a good portfolio. If you're brand new to the business, create some sample sites which will serve to fill your portfolio until you get some clients.
Another way to make money building and developing web sites is to do them for yourself. There are many ways to make money with a web site. You could build a content based site and run context based pay-per-click ads. You could join an affiliate program and promote products on your site. You could open an online store, selling most anything you can think of. Many people work from home every day earning money from the sites they own. Some people combine different sources of revenue into one web site. For example, they may have a site that earns them pay-per-click money as well as affiliate revenue.
Yet another method of making money with web site development is to create web sites based around different subjects, then sell the completed sites. There is quite a large market for people looking for ready-made web sites. For example, many developers sell their completed sites on Ebay, although there are lots of other places to sell sites as well. A little research can lead you to great places to advertise and sell your work. As you can see, there are many potential ways for a site developer to earn a living. All it takes is hard work, creativity and the will to succeed!
