After you've established the basics of your site and obtained a good design program, it's time to think about the details. Layout of your pages is one important aspect. Experiment with different templates and layouts to find the one you prefer. When it comes to websites, simple and clean is most always better. However, you don't want your pages looking too stark. Choose a color scheme for your pages that is professional yet pleasing while being easy on the eyes. Colors that are too pale or bright can cause eyestrain and be off-putting to potential visitors.

A sitemap is often a good thing to include on your site. Basically, this tells visitors and search engines the contents of your site and lists all your pages and links in order. Not only that, but you'll want your home page to include a copyright notice at the bottom, as well as a way for visitors to contact you. Many people also include an 'About Me' or 'About Us' section on their homepage as well.
